The Sainte-Thérèse chapel was inaugurated on December 1, 1932.
Built on the dunes, in Labenne-Océan , the chapel is located a few meters from the Hélio-Marin center and the beach.
The Germans occupied the chapel during the Second World War and fled with the bell. After the war a new bell was installed in memory of a soldier who died in combat. Its founder, Jules Bouville, rests there with his family.
Damaged by bad weather and acts of vandalism, the Conservatoire du Littoral undertook a restoration which was completed in 2019. It is not possible to visit the interior.
By climbing the dune next to the chapel, you will have a 360° view : the chapel, the pine forests and the ocean as far as the eye can see . On your right, you can see Capbreton and Hossegor. And on the left the Pyrenees chain.
Coming to admire it in all weathers offers you beautiful surprises and new colors each time.
Our personalized advice: Come and admire the sunset while sharing a good time with friends, lovers or alone. Not to be missed and enjoyed without moderation.
